Intel desktop motherboard roadmap

A leaked Intel Motherboard roadmap from Donanimhaber shows us what Intel has in store for its consumers with regards to new boards and chipset configurations. At the end of 2011 Intel will have its SandyBridge-E X79 motherboards ready, both of the "Extreme series" the DX79SI and the DX79TO. As well as that Intel also has its "MarshallTown" Atom motherboards planned for release later this year.

Then in early 2012 Intel will release the newest range of boards to support the 22nm socket 1155 Ivy Bridge CPUs, four chipsets and board combos will be made available here:
- H77 (much like H67) has no overclocking capabilities.
- Z77 (much like Z68) has overclocking and smart response support
- Q67 not really like anything we have seen before is aimed more at the "enterprise market"
- B75 for the mini-ITX boards

There will be two "Extreme series" Z77 boards, Two Z77 "Media" boards, Four H77 "Media" boards, two Q77 "Enterprise series" boards and a single B75 Mini-ITX board.
