The Asian graphics card manufacturer HIS has developed a solution to 'legacy systems' and it has developed a graphics card which utilises the PCI-E 2.0 1X slot unlike traditional cards which take a full physical PCI-E 16X slot to operate. They have used the reference PCB design of an AMD HD 6450 card with a passive heat sink cooling design. The card packs 2GB off DDR3 memory which does seem slightly overkill but given DDR3 memory chip pricing it is unlikely to make this card expensive.
The card is suited for compact systems such as HTPCs thanks to its low profile design. The specifications are quite standard for what you might expect; 160 Stream Processors, a 64-bit memory interface, GPU and memory clocks of 625 MHz and 1000 MHz. It has three display outputs: D-Sub, dual-link DVI and DisplayPort. No information on pricing but in the region of £35 to £45 seems appropriate.
