Modern Warfare 3 bans 1600 cheaters so far

There is good news for the Modern Warfare series. It is signifcantly less prone to hacking and exploiting than Battlefield 3 was, Battlefield 3 banned multiple thousand players in a day at the height of the "Boosting" glitch. So far only 1600 people have been banned from Modern Warfare 3 for hacking and glitching of various kinds. Again though this leads to the question, much like with Battlefield 3's "Boosting" incident: should players be banned for poor coding which means glitches exist or should they simple have their stats wiped a slap on the wrists and eventually the glitch gets fixed before it can happen again? However, there is no arguing players should be banned for trying to alter the game's source code and create recognized hacks such as wall hacks and aim bots.

InfinityWard's community man Robert Bowling posted on Twitter: Any attempt to cheat, hack, or glitch in #MW3 will not be tolerated. 1600+ bans issued. Updates in works. Please cont. to report offenders. He then added: We are doing mass bans on PC as well while we work on updates. He has promised that a hot fix is in the works for multiple glitches that have been reported.
