A 120 PetaByte drive could hold 24 billion music MP3 tracks at 5MB each but it is unlikely the developers IBM Almaden had such a use in mind. Developing this monster for an unnamed client it is believed the massive storage device will be used to help perform simulations on weather trends and climatology. The device can store in excess of 1 trillion files so it is certainly up to the job. IBM didn't specify how much the device cost to make but you can only imagine the scale of the cost of such a project.
