ASUS' premium high end graphics the ASUS Mars II Dual GTX 580 Republic of Gamers card has been listed in Europe today with an extortionate price tag. The Mars II is based on two full GTX 580 GF110 cores with clock speeds of 772MHz which in comparison to the GTX 590 is 165MHz higher. With the GTX 590 consuming 365W it would not be suprising to see this beast to consume upwards of 400W of power. There is also 3GBs of GDDR5 memory clocked 150MHz higher than a reference GTX 590 to add to the extra gaming power this card brings.
Interestingly the card supports 4Way SLI (which since it is a dual GPU card means you can run two of these) however some have commented because the card is a triple slot design running SLI is nearly impossible because of space constraints. The Mars II is now available for retail across Europe prices range from €1260 to €1399 which is highly pricey considering a normal GTX 590 costs around €550, and therefore it makes more sense to get yourself two of those for the same price. However, some people do like the prestige of having such a rare card and one thing is for certain, these cards will sell whatever the price.
